This is the sewing pattern and instructions for the Silk Hat II (Comic Style).
It is not a standard silk hat, but a pattern designed especially for cosplay costumes.
Since the construction method is different from the original hat-making process, please treat it as a costume accessory.
The shape slightly widens toward the top.
You can adjust the height of the side or change the shape of the brim to match your desired image.
After printing, join the pages along the guide lines and cut out the pattern. The seam allowance is already included, so you can use it as it is.
* If adding a lining, cut two pieces each for the top and side. When sewing, make them slightly smaller.
(1) Iron fusible interfacing onto the top, side, and brim.
(2) Fold the top edge of the side decoration inward by 1 cm with an iron, and sew it to the side.
(3) Sew the side pieces together, then topstitch the seam. (Trim off any extra seam allowance.)
(4) Sew the top and side together, then trim the seam allowance, leaving about 2 mm.
(5) Sew the two brim pieces together.
(6) Insert wire along the bias line of the brim and cover it with bias tape.
* It is better to tack the wire onto the seam allowance to keep it neatly in place.
(7) Sew the brim and side together.
