This is a very simple T-shirt sewing pattern and tutorial.
Please use knit fabric or other stretch fabrics such as 2-way materials when making this garment.
Surprisingly, basic T-shirt patterns are often not sold because of their simple shape. For cosplay costumes, many people use other similar patterns as substitutes.
If you have fabric that matches the character design, this pattern is easy to make and fun to try.
This pattern is for a short-sleeve T-shirt. For long-sleeve cosplay costumes, please adjust the sleeve length to match your preferred measurement.
The children’s size has a wider neckline and more ease around point B.
After printing, align the joining lines, tape the pages together, and cut out the pattern. Seam allowances are already included, so you can use it as is.
What are “Grainline” and “Cut on fold”? Please refer to this page.
(1) Sew the shoulder seams and side seams of the “Front Body” and “Back Body” together with a sewing machine, then serge/overlock and press with an iron.
How to serge/overlock (sewing machine & overlock sewing machine) Please refer to this page.
(2) Sew the side seam of each “Sleeve” to make two tubes, then serge/overlock and press.
How to sew sleeves and sleeve cuffs Please refer to this page.
(3) Serge/overlock the hem of the “Body” and the hem of the “Sleeves” to prevent fraying. Fold the hem inward by 0.5 inch (≈1 cm) and sew with a sewing machine.
(4) Attach the “Sleeves” to the “Body” and serge/overlock the armholes.
(5) Sew the “Neckband” into a loop.
(6) Fold the “Neckband” in half lengthwise and sew it onto the “Body,” sandwiching the seam allowance.
