This pattern provides simple arm covers designed to protect your arms from sunlight.
They can be used to cover the upper arm or the area around the sleeve opening, helping to prevent sunburn. These are sometimes called “arm sleeves” or “sleeve covers,” but for clarity, we refer to them as arm covers.
They are often seen in cosplay costumes, especially for elegant or noble-style characters.
You can make them from a simple rectangle, but shaping the pattern slightly to match the natural curve of the arm will prevent distortion along the seam and give a cleaner finish.
The curved lines may seem unexpectedly tricky to draw, so please feel free to use this pattern.
Unlike arm warmers, which are designed for warmth, these arm covers are intended for UV protection. Therefore, thin and stretchy fabrics are recommended.
When sewing, use nylon thread for knit fabrics (such as Resilon).
Adding lace or decorative trims makes them look especially cute. The structure is very simple, making this a great project for beginners.
After printing, align the joining lines, tape the pages together, and cut out the pattern. Seam allowances are already included, so you can use it as is.
* This pattern is designed to be sewn with a 5 mm seam allowance.
