Summer Dress Sewing Patterns | DRCOS Patterns & How To Make

This is a pattern for a summer dress with four box pleats to add volume to the skirt.

After printing, paste it according to the pasting line,Cut and use.

The pattern has a seam allowance, so it can be used as is.

The production process is explained with translation software.

(1) Fold the "shoulder strap" with an iron and topstitch to finish the "shoulder strap".

(2) Apply fusible interlining to the "front facing" and "Back facing", sew them together, split the seam allowance (S/A) with an iron, and serge/overlock.

How to Serge/overlock (sewing machine & overlock sewing machine)

(3) Serge/overlock the sides of "Front bodice side", center line, "Back bodice side", and center line, then sew them together except for the zipper side of "Back bodice".

* Serge/overlock the zipper side of "Back bodice" after connecting the skirt.

(4) Serge/overlock the sides of the skirt and sew them together except for the zipper side.

(5) Sew the corresponding seams of the skirt together, open the seam lines to the pleat center line, and secure with topstitching.

(6) Align and sew the "Body" and skirt along the side lines, serge/overlock the seam allowance (S/A), and press it downward with an iron.

(7) Serge/overlock the zipper side together, and apply stay tape to the zipper attachment position.

How to use stay tape

(8) Sew up to the Sewing stop position of the skirt, press open the seam allowance (S/A) with an iron, and sew an invisible zip at the zipper position.

(9) Attach the "shoulder strap" to the "Body" with the "facing" sandwiched in between.

* Be careful as the actual string of the "shoulder strap" is downward when sandwiching it.

* Make sure to check the length of the shoulder strap before sewing it in place.

(10) Serge/overlock the hem of the skirt, fold it up, and sew on a sewing machine.
